Create, manage, and redeem coupons for your car wash
The LocalWashAdvisor coupon system creates a seamless flow from customer discovery to redemption at your business.
Note: The system does NOT automatically integrate with your POS. You must manually calculate and apply the discount at checkout after validation.
Creating a coupon takes less than 2 minutes through your dashboard:
π‘ Pro Tip: Use seasonal themes to match current holidays (Halloween, Christmas, etc.) for better visual appeal and higher claim rates!
Coupon slots determine how many active coupons you can have running at the same time. Each slot holds one coupon.
1 Coupon Slot
5 Coupon Slots
Remember: Customers see ALL your active coupons on your business card. More slots = more ways to attract different customer segments!
Coupon themes are pre-designed visual templates that make your coupons eye-catching and seasonal. Premium members get access to 18 professionally designed themes.
Standard
Classic blue theme
π‘ Marketing Tip: Change your coupon themes monthly to match holidays (e.g., Halloween in October, Christmas in December) to keep your offers feeling fresh and timely!
Redemption happens in your dashboard when a customer arrives with their claimed coupon. You have two verification methods:
β‘ Fastest method - takes 5 seconds!
π Backup option if QR scan doesn't work
Important: The system does NOT automatically integrate with your POS. After validating the coupon, you must manually calculate and apply the discount at checkout. The coupon is automatically marked as used after validation - no additional confirmation needed.
The "New Customer" theme has special protection to ensure each customer can only claim it once from your business. This prevents repeat customers from abusing new customer offers.
Your Setup:
Customer Journey:
π‘ Pro Tip: Use your highest-value offer (like 50% off) with the "New Customer" theme, and save your standard coupons (like $10 off) for repeat customers. This maximizes customer acquisition while controlling costs!
The cooldown period is the minimum number of days a customer must wait before they can claim the same coupon again. Each coupon has its own independent cooldown.
1 Day
Daily deals, flash promotions
7 Days
Weekly specials
14 Days
Bi-weekly promotions
30 Days
Monthly deals (recommended)
90 Days
Quarterly specials, high-value offers
π‘ Example: You have Coupon A (1-day cooldown), Coupon B (7-day cooldown), and Coupon C (30-day cooldown). A customer can claim all three on the same day! But they must wait 1 day to claim A again, 7 days to claim B again, and 30 days to claim C again.
No. Each coupon is strictly one-time use only. Once a coupon is claimed and redeemed, it cannot be used again by that customer or anyone else.
Customers can claim the same coupon offer again ONLY if:
When they claim again: System generates a new unique code - it's treated as a completely separate coupon instance.
β Note: They can still claim your OTHER coupons immediately! The cooldown only applies to re-claiming the same coupon.
Day 1: Customer claims "50% Off Full Service (Max $30)" β Gets code ABC12345
Day 5: Comes to your car wash β You scan ABC12345 β Applies 50% discount β Coupon redeemed
Day 10: Customer tries to use ABC12345 again β β Blocked: "Already redeemed"
Day 35: (Cooldown 30 days passed) β Customer can claim the same offer again β Gets NEW code XYZ78901
Day 40: Uses XYZ78901 β β Valid (new coupon instance)
Bottom Line: Each redemption code is single-use only. To get the discount again, customers must wait for cooldown to expire and claim a fresh coupon with a new code.
No. Once a coupon is created and published, it cannot be edited. This policy protects customers who have already claimed your coupon from having the terms changed unexpectedly.
If you need to update your offer, follow this process:
When you delete a coupon that customers have already claimed:
Monday: You create "50% Off Full Service (Max $30)"
Tuesday: 20 customers claim this coupon
Wednesday: You realize $30 cap is too high β Delete the coupon β Create new one: "50% Off Full Service (Max $20)"
Result:
While you can't edit an existing coupon, you have full control over:
Bottom Line: Once published, coupons cannot be edited to protect customers. Delete and recreate if you need to change the offer.
Yes. You can delete a coupon at any time from your dashboard. However, customers who already claimed it will keep their coupons with the original terms.
Your "$20 off" coupon got 100 claims in 2 days β Delete it to stop more claims β Honor the 100 existing claims
Created "90% off" instead of "9% off" β Delete immediately β Create correct version β Very few claims to honor
Running a weekend special but need to end Friday β Delete coupon β Weekend customers can't claim anymore
Delete "Summer Special" β Create "Fall Special" in same slot β Fresh start with new terms
Bottom Line: Delete old offers to make room for new ones. Existing customers keep their claimed coupons and you must honor them, but new customers won't see the deleted offer anymore.
Nothing happens! If a customer claims your coupon but never redeems it, the coupon simply expires at its expiration date.
The expiration date controls when the customer can REDEEM the coupon at your business, not when they can claim it.
Example Timeline:
Why This Matters: Customer can claim your coupon anytime before expiration, but they must REDEEM it at your business before the expiration date. If they claim on Jan 30 and try to redeem on Feb 1, it will be REJECTED as expired.
Industry data shows that coupon redemption rates vary widely by business type and offer quality:
Common Confusion:
Customer claims coupon on Day 29 of a 30-day coupon β They have 1 day to redeem, not 30 days from their claim date. The expiration date is FIXED when you create the coupon, not relative to when customers claim it.
What customers see: In their "My Coupons" wallet, expired coupons appear faded with red "Expired" text and an "Expired" filter tab. They're kept for reference but cannot be used.
Bottom Line: Unclaimed/unredeemed coupons expire naturally. Free tier pays upfront (no refund), Premium tier only pays when redeemed. Set realistic expiration dates and attractive offers to maximize redemption rates!
You cannot create additional coupons until you delete an existing one or upgrade your subscription. Each tier has a fixed number of coupon slots: Free tier gets 1 slot, Premium tiers get 5 slots.
Option 1: Delete Existing Coupon
Important: Customers who already claimed the deleted coupon keep their copy with original terms!
Option 2: Upgrade to Premium
Free Tier (1 Slot):
Premium Tier (5 Slots):
Bottom Line: Slots are fixed per tier. Free gets 1 slot, Premium gets 5 slots. Delete old coupons to create new ones, or upgrade for more simultaneous offers. Deleted coupons remain valid for customers who already claimed them.
